He failed to head the advice of those who warned that Mexico and El Tri are an impossible task for anyone to turn round although did as good a job as his successor who also quit as soon as he could form that lunacy. He failed to do a bad enough job with Ivory Coast for them not to go all out to renew his contract after totally turning them around in the few weeks he had before this years W-Cup.
