PREVIEW
Cardiff City will head into the second play-off semi-final full of confidence having held high-flying Reading to a goalless draw on Friday. There’s no doubt that the Royals were the form team heading into the first clash, but Cardiff put in a much improved performance to keep things level.

Manager Dave Jones will be sweating on the fitness of starman Craig Bellamy, but in Michael Chopra and Jay Bothroyd, he has two excellent players ready to step in. The goalless draw at the Madejksi was the fourth tie on the spin for these two clubs, which also extended the Bluebirds unbeaten run to eight matches against the Royals.

There was nothing to separate the sides in the opening leg, but with home advantage Cardiff are the favourites on the ‘Daq’ at around 2.37. However, the visitors drew on 17 occasions in the Championship this campaign and another looks likely here.

Further support that this fixture may need extra time or penalties is that ten of the Royals’ away games this term ended with the points being shared.

The draw is currently trading at around 3.3 on Betdaq and that seems the way to go here. Cardiff’s recent home results have been pretty poor over the last few weeks and they have won only three times in their past eight home league outings.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back the draw at around 3.3: 5 points

Horse Betting Tips: MATCH OF THE DAY on Wednesday: AFC Wimbledon v Fleetwood Town

AFC Wimbledon v Fleetwood Town
Football Conference play-off semi-final second leg
KO 19:45, Setanta Ireland

HEAD-TO-HEAD
(Max last 10 only)
06 May 2011 Football Conference play-off Fleetwood Town 0-2 AFC Wimbledon
05 Feb 2011 Conference Premier AFC Wimbledon 1-0 Fleetwood Town
18 Jan 2011 Conference Premier Fleetwood Town 1-1 AFC Wimbledon

PREVIEW
AFC Wimbledon head into the second leg tie in an excellent position to reach the Blue Square Premier play-off final. A goal either side of half-time at Highbury Stadium means that the job is almost complete, but manager Terry Brown will be reminding his side not to lose focus.

Should Wimbledon reach the final, the side will only be one victory from being a single league apart from their huge rivals MK Dons. The head-to-head record is firmly in the host’s favour and they have conceded just once in three meetings against tonight’s opponents.

The home side come into this clash undefeated in six games and during that impressive run they have won five of those matches. With that, it’s not too difficult to see why Wimbledon are trading as short as 1.83 on the ‘Daq’.

Fleetwood are not exactly in bad form as they have lost only once in their past six outings. The telling factor here though is that their away results have not been consistent enough. The past six away contests have accumulated eight points from a possible 18.

Even at a short price I’m still inclined to go for a home win, but I also expect there to be goals in this tie. Fleetwood have to go for it from the first whistle and that should make for an open game, it’ll be worth backing over 2.5 goals at around 2.05.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back AFC Wimbledon at 1.83: 4 points
Back over 2.5 goals at 2.05: 3 points
