The world’s greatest racehorse Frankel could face seven rivals as he bids for a second successive Sussex Stakes victory at Glorious Goodwood next week, and is a smouldering 1-20 with William Hill to stretch his unbeaten run to 12.
Sir Henry Cecil‘s superstar colt takes his usual mantle of red-hot favouritism, however, having been quoted at odds-on at every start since he made his debut, this particular assignment is set to be the shortest starting price in his career so far.
Godolphin’s supplemented Farhh is his closest rival in the betting at 5-1, with Power, one of a trio of Aidan O’Brien-trained runners, quoted at 16-1.
Strong Suit, winner of the Lennox Stakes at the meeting last year, is a 20-1-shot at the five-day declaration stage.
William Hill spokeswoman Lucy Rhodes said “Everything looks in place for Frankel to take his unbeaten career tally to 12 at the Glorious venue, while making the history books yet again as the first horse ever to win a second Sussex“
Qipco Sussex Stakes: 1-20 Frankel, 5-1 Farhh, 16-1 Power, 20-1 Strong Suit, 66-1 Gabrial, Ishvana, 100-1 Reply, 200-1 Bullet Train (EW ¼ 1,2 – UNLESS ALL EIGHT RUN)
