William Hill Horse Racing Tips: Naps Of The Day

Ex-footballer-come-Salsa sensation Robbie Savage is attempting to bag £100,000 for charity when trying his hand at William Hill’s fantasy horse racing challenge ‘The Jumps’ – which is live to enter NOW!

Savage, who is better known for his ball-related punditry rather than tipping of the equine kind, has put forward his 10 horses to follow for the season and is hoping he can transfer his ball-handling skills to the formbook when charity donations are at stake.

Robbie has plumped for a trio of selections from the Champion stable of Paul Nicholls – with star stayer Big Buck’s a firm choice alongside Aiteen Thirtythree and Kauto Stone, whilst Peddlers Cross – trained by Grand National-winning handler Donald McCain – is his ‘Stable Star’, where enhanced 20 per cent bonus odds are up for grabs every time that selection runs.

With Peddlers Cross and Aiteen Thirtythree due to make appearances this weekend, Sav could get off to a real flyer in the competition.

Lucy Rhodes, spokeswoman for William Hill, said, ‘Robbie has made a success of his switch from the football pitch to the dance floor, but horse racing is another game for him. With all ‘The Jumps’ winnings going to charity, will the Strictly star manage to waltz his way to victory with this one?’

Reckon Robbie should stick to the Salsa? Reckon he’ll fall at the first? Keep track of Sav’s progress on www.thejumps.com – and follow him on Twitter @RobbieSavage8

The Jumps competition is open to enter NOW, however the clock is ticking to the entry closing date of November 26th, so get choosing!

Coupon slips are available in William Hill betting shops and it costs just £2 to enter, with a win prize of £100,000 and runner-up prize of £50,000 up for grabs at the end of the competition in March, plus monthly prizes of £4,000 available.

ROBBIE SAVAGE’S ‘THE JUMPS’ SELECTIONS ARE:

Stable Star – Peddlers Cross
Aiteen Thirtythree
Big Buck’s
Grandouet
Joncol
Kauto Stone
Oscars Well
Spirit Son
Sprinter Sacre
Time For Rupert

ABOUT THE JUMPS

The game itself is easy to enter, players must simply pick 10 horses from ‘The Jumps’ Easy Slip which is available in any of William Hill’s 2400 UK-wide betting shops. In the same style as filling out teams on a football coupon, players must mark the box next to their selections and hand this in to a member of staff along with their £2 entry fee, and in return they will receive a printed slip of their selections and a wallet.

One of the ten selections must be from the list of eight stable stars. Your ‘Stable Star’ (the selection picked from the list of eight) entitles you to 20 PER CENT BONUS ODDS every time it runs throughout the competition dates. To avail of the bonus odds, players must bring along their printed entry slip and wallet when they’re backing their selection.

The win prize is £100,000, the second is £50,000, and there are monthly prizes of £4,000 to be won throughout the competition.

Slips are available NOW in William Hill betting shops.

The competition kicks off on Hennessy Gold Cup day, November 26th 2011, and runs up to and including the final day of the Cheltenham Festival, March 16th 2012 – entries and monies need to be in by NOON on November 26th.

Punters can enter as many times as they like. Each stable costs £2 and there are no transfers throughout the competition.

You can find out further details about the game; including the rules, the scoring systems, how to play and the prize structures, on

www.thejumps.com or in any of William Hill’s 2400 shops across the UK and Ireland.

Not content with 14 Grade One wins, National Hunt legend Kauto Star threw his hoof back into the William Hill King George ring this afternoon with an incredible win in the Betfair Chase.

Following a disappointing end to last season, the 11-year-old had been an unconsidered 16-1 chance for a fifth King George win this year, but after taking the scalp of Long Run, Diamond Harry, and Time for Rupert at the Haydock track, now ranks as 4-1 second-favourite for the famous Christmastime chase.

Long Run – odds on for the three-mile event just a fortnight ago is now out to 13-8 from even-money, with Kauto’s stablemate Master Minded into 5-1 from 8-1 following his Amlin Chase Ascot victory.

Kate Miller, spokeswoman for William Hill said: ”Just when you think you’ve truly seen it all! Not content with rounding his career off quietly, Kauto Star has fired a warning shot into the bows of his younger rivals with an imperious win at Haydock. Looks like we’ll follow the star to Kempton once again this Christmas”

Hills responded by also cutting Kauto Star’s Gold Cup odds to 10-1 from 33-1, keeping Long Run their 5-2 unchanged favourite.
